AVI-SPL’s Virtual Meeting Room Means Personalized Collaboration

The rise of mobile devices means a greater demand for personalized business solutions. A study by Forrester estimates that by 2016, over 350 million smartphones will be used in the workplace, more than doubling the number from 2012.  Meanwhile, companies face the challenge of quickly giving their current and new hires the ability to video conference.  AVI-SPL is addressing their needs to join video calls from a remote office or mobile device with our low-cost, flexible Virtual Meeting Room service.

Why It’s Significant for Businesses of All Sizes

Our VMR service enables virtually any size company to use standards-based video devices and give everyone in their company their own virtual meeting room to host video calls at a fraction of the usual cost. In doing so, we support the growth of BYOD (bring your own device) and remote workers by empowering mobile users to have a secure  virtual meeting room outside of the corporate network. Here are a few of the features we feel make our VMR offering so appealing to organizations of any size:

  • Provide dedicated meeting room IDs to as many employees as needed
  • Pay only for ports that are used; quickly add more as need and use grows
  • Any standards-based system can use our VMR service (Lync, H.323, SIP, and Skype users)
  • Can be upgraded to a QoS offering and private cloud offering; so as your business grows with video, our video infrastructure provides higher levels of service, including HD quality and remote monitoring and management

How does the VMR service work?

Companies pay for a block of video conferencing ports that provide unlimited usage. The service supports SIP and H.323 standards-based hardware and software codecs from leading manufacturers, including Cisco’s MX and C series systems and Jabber software clients, Polycom RealPresence, LifeSize 220 Series and many others. We also support Microsoft® Lync® 2013 video clients and provide Skype gateway services.
