Webinar Recording: Design Basics for the Audio-Enabled Conference Room

During “Design Basics for the Audio-Enabled Conference Room,” you’ll learn best practices for well-designed conference rooms and meeting spaces with exceptional audio. During this AVI-SPL-hosted webinar, Gino Sigismondi, associate director of technical support and training at Shure, explores topics including:

  • Benefits of high-quality audio in the conference room
  • How we measure speech quality
  • The three basic elements of the conference room
  • Phases of the room-design process
  • Microphone selection for video conferencing
  • Four ways to improve room audio performance

Sigismondi also offers examples of AV connection scenarios, microphone characteristics, and how different mic types respond to input.

Laurie Berg, director of services product management for AVI-SPL, explains the benefits of Symphony, the user experience application that supports an integrated collaboration workflow and helps manage and monitor your AV and UC estate, including Shure devices and the meeting rooms where they’re used.

Webinar Recording: Improving Your UCC Meeting-Room Audio

In this webinar, recorded on March 6, learn what it takes to deliver high-quality audio throughout your organization’s meeting rooms so that all participants — including those joining remotely — have an effective, productive experience.

The most important part of any video call or conferencing meeting is the audio. Without good audio, there’s no meeting. Get the recording of this free Commercial Integrator and MyTechDecisions webinar, and learn how Biamp audio solutions provide a high-quality experience. Zach Snook, product manager for Biamp, covers:

  • Beamtracking microphones
  • Power-over-Ethernet amplifiers
  • desono™ conferencing speakers
  • Soundmasking
  • Bluetooth and USB connectivity
  • DSPs
  • VoIP deployment tools

You’ll also hear from Charlie Salto, a project engineer for AVI-SPL. Charlie gives his insight into audio design for meeting rooms. Whether you’re refreshing a meeting room or designing and installing a new solution on a tight timeline, experts from Biamp and AVI-SPL explain how they can address these challenges quickly and efficiently.

Sound Systems for the Bush Presidential Library

Bosch DCN-DISDCS-DFor the recently opened George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, AVI-SPL was one of many teams that came together to design and implement audio visual systems.

The September 2013 issue of Sound & Communications explores the AV solutions and how they enhance the experience for library guests. Part of that story includes the sound system installation, which AVI-SPL handled. Because the project touches on so many areas, certain aspects were, due to space, left out.

One of those aspects was our integration of Bosch sound systems, including discussion units (DCN-DISDCS-D), for conference areas  and a Bosch Integrus Assistive Listening/Language Translation system. The DCN is an interpretation system that went into the auditorium and presidential seminar room. In each of those spaces are two interpretation booths. The Integrus system is in the same two areas, as well as the pre-function area.

Beyerdynamic Revoluto for Audio Conferencing

While at AVI-SPL’s recent Global Sales Meeting, I had the chance to visit with Beyerdynamic and see firsthand its Revoluto audio conferencing solution. Part of what makes this solution very cool is its compact design. But what really sets Revoluto apart is the wide pick-up pattern that maintains high-quality audio, even as the speaker moves or gets up from the table. Some of the benefits of this solution, as opposed to a gooseneck mic:

  • Clearer view of fellow attendees
  • Greater range of movement for the speaker
  • Natural speaking position
  • Wide voice range
