Saundra Merollo is the senior sales engineer for strategic accounts for Sharp Information and Imaging Company of America. Saundra has more than 15 years in the technology, integration and audiovisual industry and has received numerous awards and accolades for her attention to operational efficiencies and customer service. Key roles include putting together display solutions, building relationships with strategic end users and resellers and supporting Sharp’s channel business and end user engagement. She is passionate about keeping up with display industry trends, needs and solutions. Her past experience includes management roles at LG Electronics, TMC and HP, to name a few.

Scott Aydelotte brings 21 years of Sales Management/ Product Management experience with him. In his current capacity, he is the Associate Director of Distribution and National Accounts at Sharp Electronics. He is responsible for managing the distribution channel for Sharp’s Professional Grade Monitors and Professional Projectors. He continues to be the main focal point for AVI-SPL for all Sharp-branded products.

San Diego – I’m reporting live from the WIRED Café at Comic-Con Internationalthis week, July 12-14! AVI-SPL is a sponsor of this year’s WIRED Café and I’m excited to show off some cool technology to the comic industry leaders, media and celebrities who will be stopping by the three-day event.

In partnership with Sharp, our activation features a 70-inch AQUOS BOARD™ interactive display. Illustrator Court Jones will be using the board as his canvas to sketch superhero caricatures for guests at the event. I’ll be posting the drawings on both the WIRED Insider and AVI-SPL Facebook pages, and will be sharing photos and videos, too. So, go ahead and give us a “like” to get in on the fun!

The WIRED Café is a daytime oasis on the terrace of the Omni Hotel in San Diego featuring cocktails and snacks, WiFi and gadgets, press and VIP lounge and interactive demos. The event is accessible by invitation only and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 12-14.

Sharp Adds to Growth in the 3D Projection Market

Are you ready to make the move to 3D? The 3D projection market continues to expand, as Sharp has entered the growing market. Sharp’s suite of six 3D-ready, DLP BrilliantColor professional projectors aim to stand above the competition with energy saving features such as low standby power consumption, in addition to an  expanded lamp life through eco mode operations.

Sharp’s six new models include the following:

  • PG-D45X3D (4,500 ANSI lumens, XGA native resolution)
  • PG-D40W3D (4,000 ANSI lumens, WXGA native resolution)
  • PG-D3510X (3,500 ANSI lumens, XGA native resolution)
  • PG-D3010X (3,000 ANSI lumens, XGA native resolution)
  • PG-D2710X (2,700 ANSI lumens, XGA native resolution)
  • PG-D2500X (2n500 ANSI lumens, XGA native resolution)

Key elements behind the new models also include a wireless remote with a built-in spotlight function and on-screen pointer to support presentations. As a safety feature, the projector automatically shuts off if the lens cover is closed more than 30 minutes.

All models are expected to be rolled out by April 2010.
