Polycom Touts Connection With Cisco TelePresence

Polycom Telepresence meetingPolycom delivered some big news recently, announcing that it has added a software update to its RealPresence platform, allowing users of Polycom and other standards-based video conferencing systems to connect with Cisco TelePresence systems.  The release states that the interoperability is made possible by Polycom’s support for Cisco’s Telepresence Interoperability Protocol.

This capability is significant because it leverages multiple networks, enabling organizations to collaborate across different vendors’ systems. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, the RealPresence Platfrom is a scalable, software-based infrastructure that allows for video resource and content management.
