Mark Linton Promoted to SVP of Integration

Chicago – Congratulations to Mark Linton on his promotion to Senior Vice President of Integration for the Eastern Region.

In this role, Linton will work to improve profitability and operational efficiencies throughout AVI-SPL’s 32 offices. Linton will work side by side with the eastern region general managers to foster AVI-SPL’s focus on communication and quality assurance

Doug Carnell, executive vice president of operations stated: “Mark’s ability to focus on the process of operations while growing a large office, will serve us well in the eastern region. His great attitude and leadership will continue our great success in the region.”

Linton joined AVI-SPL in 2000 and has served the last five years as the general manager for AVI-SPL’s Chicago office. During his time as general manager, Mark has worked diligently with the Chicago team, doubling their growth in four short years from $25 million in 2008 to over $50 million in 2011. This year, the Chicago office was awarded Top Integration Sales Office at the company’s National Sales Meeting.

In addition, Shelley Salys has been promoted to general manager of the Chicago office. Salys has worked with Linton and the Chicago team for the last nine years and has been the Operations Manager for the past four years.

Congratulations Mark and Shelley! We know you’ll continue achieving great things for AVI-SPL in your new positions.

Yes, We CANstruction

Chicago — What do you get when you bring professionals from the design and construction industry together with thousands of cans and a good cause?

The most unique food charity event in the world – CANstruction.

CANstruction held its sixth annual design competition where contestants built giant, intricate structures out of canned food that were all donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. AVI-SPL’s Chicago office took part in this worthy cause helping the organization to raise more than 94,436 cans!

The AVI-SPL/Harley Ellis Deveraux team built a giant grocery bag out of 3,152 canned foods. Our Hole Foods-themed bag was “torn” with food spilling out the side.

AVI-SPL’s contribution to the cause went beyond creating an exhibit. Besides the team’s $3,800 fundraised donation, our Chicago office developed the technology that CANstruction used to capture the votes for the crowd favorite. This AMX MXT-1900-PAN touch panel allowed visitors to view images, uncover details about each display and submit their names and email addresses to vote for their favorite.

Check out this video to see the touch panel in action!

Once all the votes were cast, CANstruction hosted the A-can-emy Awards Gala to recognize the year’s most creative structures. AVI-SPL’s sculpture was acknowledged by the event’s biggest sponsor, taking home the Whole Foods Market Chicago Award.

Congratulations Team AVI-SPL! We’re so proud of everyone’s hard work for this wonderful cause!
