As part of AVI-SPL’s integration of audio visual solutions at the ArtsQuest at SteelStacks performing arts center, AVI-SPL implemented audio equipment like BSS Audio London processors and JBL loudspeakers. (Both are brands under the Harman Professional umbrella.) The BSS Audio London processors support microphone level inputs at multiple locations and provide processing and level control. Three weatherproof JBL PD5212/64WRX loudspeakers send audio to the outdoor plaza, and JBL Control 30 loudspeakers suspended from the third-floor balcony supply the sound to the sidewalk leading into the building’s entrance. For the main audio at the center’s Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas, our engineers implemented the JBL Cinema series.
At AVI-SPL we like to take the opportunity to single out some of the valued manufacturers we rely on to bring our clients the quality solutions they expect. In a recently completed project for the Pennsylvania performance center ArtsQuest at SteelStacks, AVI-SPL employed Tannoy, Sony and Contemporary Research products.
Tannoy speakers throughout the public spaces handle foreground music and paging. AVI-SPL engineers say they were selected for their efficiency, audio bandwidth, coverage consistency, sound quality and aesthetic fit with the architecture.
A Sony HD Cam complements the NEC Digital Cinema projectors in the two theaters that comprise the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema. HD-SDI video from the deck is fed into a processor to de-embed encoded digital audio in the AES/EBU format. Audio is routed to the Dolby Cinema processors where it is decoded and converted to left, center, right and surround channels for amplifiers. The HD-SDI video component is then sent to the projectors.
Contemporary Research Encoder/Modulators distribute video content from AMX digital video player/servers. They are also available to send feeds from the Musikfest Cafe video camera and other sources.
