AVI-SPL partners with AVM to Deliver Video Managed Services

AVI-SPL uses its considerable industry expertise and manufacturer partnerships to bring Telepresence and video conferencing technologies to forward-thinking businesses around the world.  For many companies trying to keep up with the fast-paced global economy, having a reliable partner to support those offerings as a service is just as important as the equipment.

To that end, AVI-SPL has teamed up with AVM, a U.K.-based supplier of video conferencing and AV systems, to deliver managed video services to their joint customers.

“Businesses demand a 24/7, highly reliable service that allows them to focus on their business and not on the technology,” says Mike Brandofino, executive vice president of video and unified communication, AVI-SPL. “Our partnership with AVM demonstrates our commitment to our ever-improving video conferencing capabilities that meet their needs.”

The plan is for both companies to use service centers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California and London, as well as video bridging infrastructure, to deliver managed video services.  By joining forces in this area, both companies will also be better equipped to provide language support for multinational customers.

AVI-SPL and AVM are founding members of the AV Global Alliance, which is an international network of leading audio-visual and video conferencing integration companies.

New Sanyo Projectors for the Classroom

Educators, take note: Sanyo recently announced the introduction of four new projectors that are ideally suited for the classroom.  These new XK and WK series projectors offer improvements in lamp and filter life, making them very appealing to schools on tight budgets. Some highlights include:

  • Long-life lamps up to 6,000 hours
  • High brightness ranges from 2,200 lumens to 3,000 lumens
  • New high-efficiency large surface filters that operate up to 5,500 hours
  • Compact, lightweight design for easy portability

Teachers will love how easy they are to transport and set up, as well as their ability to deliver high-contrast images that are easily visible to each student. Videoconferencing Sounds Great With Biamp’s Nexia VC

Nexia VCWhile the main selling point of videoconferencing is obviously the ability to see to whom you’re talking across the miles, equally important is the quality of the audio between the communicating parties. That’s where Biamp’s Nexia VC comes in. This slim but powerful digital signal processor is designed to deliver outstanding audio during videoconferencing applications – without any compromise.

One of the features that make the Nexia VC so noteworthy is its Biamp Sona™ AEC, a proprietary wideband acoustic echo cancellation algorithm that produces crystal-clear audio. Because the Nexia VC delivers 20Hz to 20kHz bandwidth, you hear natural, true-to-life sound from each conference participant.

The Nexia VC is both economical and intuitive, meaning you can add it quickly to your set-up, and use it just as fast. It can be implemented in a variety of video conferencing situations, thanks to an internal system design that is completely user definable via PC software, and features a broad selection of audio components, routing options and signal processing. The unit has room for 8 wideband AEC mic/line inputs, 2 standard mic/line inputs, 4 mic/line outputs and a codec interface.
