AVI-SPL Employees Give Back During AV Week 2012

Our theme for this year’s AV Week celebration was giving back to the communities where we live and work. In the spirit of giving, we challenged our team members to collect donations for a local charity. We had more than 20 teams participate in the drive.

In partnership with the donation drive, we also hosted a technology contest for non-profit organizations. Charities across the U.S. entered for a chance to win a 32″ display and a Cisco Flip Video camera. Check out the blog post to see the winners!

Winners Announced: AV Week Non-Profit Technology Giveaway

Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker Issues AV Week Proclamation

Making it official, the Mayor of Houston Annise D. Parker has signed a proclamation deeming October 16-22 “AV Week.”

AVI-SPL opened its doors in Houston in 2005 and today has about 30 employees. The Houston office has grown steadily in the past 6 years and today specializes in energy and higher education clients.

“Mayor Parker’s proclamation illustrates the significant impact the audiovisual industry has on the public,” said John Zettel, CEO, AVI-SPL. “Businesses are adopting video more and more and we’re happy we can lend our expertise so they can run their operations more efficiently,” Zettel added. “We’re very proud to have presence in the city of Houston. The region’s diverse industry landscape combined with the abundance of talented business professionals makes Houston a great place to do business.”
