CS2, Earl Beckwith and the Baltimore Orioles Officially Started the 2014 Baseball Season

Baltimore, MD – On February 1st the Baltimore Orioles held their annual Fan Fest, which kick-started the 2014 baseball season. Over 15,000 fans attended the Baltimore Convention Center to meet with their favorite players. The Fan Fest was a full day event that included games, entertainment, baseball clinics for the children, photos with players, autograph signing, job fair and other activities for the fans. The highlight of the event was the panel session with Orioles players who shared their thoughts and experience with fans. According to visitors and organizers, the Fest gets bigger and better every year.

The CS2 team was happy to be part of this unforgettable experience. For over 3 years, our Maryland office has been supporting the Orioles stage appearance. This year our team worked directly with our partner, producer Stacey Haines from Earl Beckwith & Associates, an Event Management Company based in Rockville, MD, to provide all the necessary technology for the event. We utilized a 13×24 feet screen, Shoji panels and two 14,000 lumens projectors, as well as audio support.

The Orioles are down at Sarasota, FL for their 2014 Spring Training.

AVI-SPL Creative Show Services gives back to Tampa Bay Youth

"Boys & Girls Club" "Creative Show Services"Our Creative Show Services team partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay to host more than 700 guests for their second annual Great Futures fundraiser breakfast. Held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, the event raised funds for the 18 Clubs throughout Hillsborough and Pasco counties.

This year’s special guest speaker was Club alumnus & New York Yankees Pitcher CC Sabathia. Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn, foundation chairman Hal Steinbrenner and Tampa Bay Lightning owners Jeff and Penny Vinik also took the stage to share their experience with Boys & Girls Clubs. Additionally, the attendees were able to hear from past Club members, many of whom are now successful business people in the community. The guests had the opportunity to learn more about the progress that Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay has made with youth living in the area and to receive a firsthand experience of the involvement of four of the Club kids who performed or were part of the program presentations.

“The event was a complete success and raised a record amount of money,” said Brad Baumgardner, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.

Baumgardner and Glenn Permuy, who serves as the director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay Foundation Board and coordinates the Great Futures Breakfast, was just as impressed with the work that our CS2 team put on for the Breakfast. For a second consecutive year, AVI-SPL contributed to the fundraiser with staging, lighting, audio and projection. Additionally, the CS2 crew shot multiple step-and-repeat video interviews of Club member testimonials.

“These are top notch professionals and they made everything work well, were very accommodating to requests and quickly became part of the Boys & Girls Club family,” added Permuy.

For more than 150 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has provided guidance to young people all over the country, capturing their interest, improving their behavior and increasing their expectations and goals. Among the Boys & Girls Clubs alumni are celebrities Denzel Washington, Jennifer Lopez, Shaquille O’Neal, Kerry Washington and many more.

Our Creative Show Services team is already working on the next Boys & Girls Club event- the Great Futures Luncheon on February 21 at the New York Yankees Complex. Check back soon for photos and more.

The Creative Show Services Team Welcomes Andrea Bocelli to Tampa

Our Creative Show Services team is excited to announce that Andrea Bocelli is returning to Tampa on December 14th for his Christmas tour. The world renowned tenor will be joined by conductor Eugene Kohn, soprano Svetla Vassileva and guest vocalist Heather Headley.

As we informed you earlier this year, Bocelli kicked off his 2013 U.S. Tour “Passione” with a show-stopping concert on February 8th in Sunrise, FL. The tenor sang to a crowd of more than 12,000, delivering a pop and operatic performance that drew standing ovations during several encores. Bocelli performed the well-known “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás” and “New York, New York” among many other favorites.

The Christmas tour, which is part of the “Passione” tour, started on December 7th in Las Vegas and the last stop will be in Atlanta, GA on December 15th. Of course, the entire event would not be complete without the incredible support of our own team from Creative Show Services, led by executive producer John Orchard and technical director Keith Lasher.

For the past 12 years, AVI-SPL has supplied all video and lighting equipment for Bocelli’s U.S. tours. This year the staging features a 60`x40` LED screen that projects live segments from the concert combined with imagery provided by the Bocelli creative group. A team of 15 people from AVI-SPL, 5 lighting and 10 video operators, together with 30 local stage hands, work each show.

As usual, the CS2 team will be there to ensure that Bocelli’s admirers will receive an amazing and unforgettable experience. For more information about the tour, go to www.andreabocelli.com. For additional information on our services, please visit www.creativeshowservices.com
