Biamp Presents New Vocia Paging Station Kit

AVI-SPL partner Biamp Systems has added the PSKIT-1, a standalone paging station kit that allows for direct connection to third-party equipment, such as legacy paging stations and fireman’s microphone panels. to its public address and voice evacuation system, Vocia, with the PSKIT-1 features embedded DSP and on-board memory to support standard and advanced public address and mass notification functionalities. The PSKIT-1 can store 999 user-defined page codes, and device-specific configuration information is stored locally within the unit.

The Vocia 1.5.2 software update enables one-button paging functionality across all of the Biamp paging station devices (DS-10, WS-10, EWS-10, PSKIT-1). This facilitates quicker page message delivery while allowing end users to define single-digit custom paging codes.

The Vocia 1.5.2 software update is available for download here.

The PSKIT-1 will be available in February 2014. Here are the specs.

If you’re at ISE 2014, visit Biamp at stands 1-M122 and 7-H195. ISE 2014 is February 4-6 at Amsterdam, Netherlands. AVI-SPL will also be at ISE — see us at 8-K290 and 12-F74.

Case Story: Demo Center for Pharmacy Benefit Company

The Catamaran pharmacy benefit company in Chicago recently branched out to a downtown building where it gives guests a firsthand experience of its offerings. The Catamaran case story at the AVI-SPL site includes a video in which our engineers and the project architects discuss the benefits of the video walls and interactive displays.

In this video, you’ll see the systems we integrated from manufacturers like Crestron (for AV control), Biamp (audio distribution), Christie (video walls), and NEC (video displays). Others, not mentioned in the video, but critical to giving the client what it wanted, include the LifeSize video conferencing that powers the Caméléon Telepresence system, and the endpoints in three conference rooms, and the Tannoy speakers that provide sound distribution in conference rooms and the lobby area.

Equipping the Hunt Library at N.C. State for Sound and Signal Distribution

North Carolina State Hunt LibraryFor the massive audio visual install at North Carolina State’s James B. Hunt Jr. Library, AVI-SPL installed solutions including video conferencing, interactive video walls, digital signage, kiosks, touch panels, cameras, projectors, video displays and advanced sound systems. To pull many of these components together, our engineers used Belden cables throughout the facility.

Tannoy speakers are also prevalent throughout the install. Our engineers went with Tannoy for multiple meeting rooms, and 32 pendant speakers for the Creative Studio. The pendant speaker solution was necessary because of the room’s open ceiling.
