The University of California, San Francisco’s Teaching and Learning Center is 22,000 square feet of communications technology, designed to train healthcare students in the use of telemedicine tools that provide specialty care for those in underserved areas of San Francisco. AVI-SPL’s solutions for this project included the integration of control systems, video conferencing and digital signage.
It also includes media capture, providing live monitoring and review capabilities for students and teachers. For each of the TLC’s two trauma rooms, AVI-SPL installed four Sony PTZ cameras. Another 36 Sony BRCZ PTZ cameras are integrated in 12 mock examination rooms.
To deliver the best possible audio conferencing experience, AVI-SPL programmed the ClearOne Converge system, which includes echo cancelling, with over 700 macros that can be tracked and monitored.
