The Value of Managed Services to Higher Education

Systems Contractor News looks at the value integrators provide to higher education, which continues to invest in video collaboration solutions. The article looks at the advances being made in video walls and in placing collaboration platforms on a network.

It also looks at the importance of collecting data to see which rooms and equipment are being used, and how often. That leads to a highlight of AVI-SPL and its ability to collect and analyze such data . Jeff Van Horn, sales and engineering manager, talks about AVI-SPL’s managed services and why it matters.

Video Explores the iEXCEL at University of Nebraska Medical Center

Yesterday I shared a series of articles about the University of Nebraska’s ambitious project to improve the quality of healthcare education through simulation and advanced visualization technology. Today, take a look at this video that explores the university’s forthcoming Interprofessional Experiential Center for Enduring Learning (iEXCEL) and its home, the Davis Global Center. You’ll see and hear about:

  • The different medical practitioners who will train and learn using iEXCEL technology
  • Design engineers who will work with doctors to create
  • Huddle and collaboration spaces and the holographic theater
  • The Davis Global Center’s ability to reach learners around the world
  • Surgical labs and patient simulators

You’ll also get a quick peek at the visualization labs, including a five-sided laser immersive space, curved 3D CAD wall, and iEXCEL Helix.

AVI-SPL is the integrator for this project, with a track record of successful visualization technology integrations for other schools. Call us at 866-559-8197 or sales@avispl.com.

Reinventing Medical Education With Advanced Visualization

In anticipation of the official November 2018 opening of the Global Center for Advanced Interprofessional Learning at the University of Nebraska, I’m sharing a few articles that have been written about the school’s Interprofessional Experiential Center for Enduring Learning (iEXCEL), which will operate out of the facility. The interprofessional center is meant to improve healthcare by enabling learners to train in a hands-on, safe environment using visualization and simulation technology.

AVI-SPL is the integrator for this project, and playing such an important role continues to be a great source of pride and an example of what is possible with the kinds of technology in which AVI-SPL specializes.

Recent articles about technology in healthcare education have looked at iEXCEL and its mission to reshape the delivery of healthcare education.

In a second post this week, I’ll share a video that the University of Nebraska has created to share its excitement over this program.
